I Don't Trust KMA Anymore – Ashanti Regional Minister
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon Simon Osei Mensah has stated that he has no trust in KMA as far as moving traders into the new Kejetia market is concerned.
The Minister was speaking on Kumasi based Kingdom FM 100.1 ‘Tontonsansan’ morning show with THE MASK.
“I don’t understand why KMA can’t move the traders into the new market for the past one and half years now”
He said his initial plan was that by December 2019, they should have moved the traders into the market to pave way for the second phase of the project.
He explained, the plan was to ensure that, KMA does not pay another rent for 1,055 Kejetia traders who were evacuated to the Acheamfuor market.
According to the Regional Minister, he has sent a letter to the KMA for the past two months to move the traders into the market but KMA has not responded to his directives.
“I have told KMA that, if they pay any pesewas to renew another rental agreement, whoever pays the money will refund it,” he stressed.
He announced that as long as he remains the Ashanti Regional Minister he will do everything in his power to move the traders back to Kejetia market by December this year.
